In this episode of “The Narcissistic Abuse & Trauma Recovery Podcast,” the host discusses the importance of self-care after experiencing narcissistic abuse. The podcast aims to provide awareness, understanding, and education about the effects of narcissistic abuse.
After experiencing narcissistic abuse, many individuals prioritize the needs of others, including children, over their own self-care. However, self-care is crucial for post-traumatic growth and overall well-being. Taking care of physical health, making time for self-care, and nurturing the inner child are all important aspects of healing and recovery. It’s never too late to start prioritizing self-care, and role modeling self-love is important not only for yourself but also for your children. Additionally, finding support and community can be instrumental in the healing process.
The host has been working on a project to establish a module of her narcissistic trauma-informed coaching certification as an actual qualification. This certification, equivalent to a postgraduate diploma, will be launched at the end of September. The program includes Internal Family Systems and is polyvagal-informed, providing comprehensive knowledge and tools for helping individuals recover from narcissistic abuse.
Self-care is not selfish but necessary for healing and well-being after experiencing narcissistic abuse. Prioritizing self-care, nurturing the inner child, and seeking support can lead to post-traumatic growth and a transition from surviving to thriving. Remember, you are not alone in your experience, and there are resources available to support you on your journey of recovery.
